Mode of action:

Fipronil blocks GABA gated chloride channels in the central nervous system. Disruption of the GABA receptors by fipronil prevents the uptake of chloride ions resulting in excess neuronal stimulation and death of the target insect.

Indications:

Dartix is indicated for the effective treatment and prevention of all life stages of ectoparasites including Ticks responsible for tick fever, Flea causing Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD) and Lice in Dogs and Cats.

Directions for Use:

  1. Calculate the total dose required as per the above guidelines and apply equally across pet's left side, right side, shoulder, head to tail, face and belly. Spray on the body from a distance of 15cm in the direction of the hair in a well -ventilated room.

  1. The powder should be dusted liberally over the body of the pet and pushed thoroughly down to the skin. Dust the affected part of the animal's body against the direction of hair. Begin at the head and work backwards. Be sure to include feet and legs of the pet. Apply once in a week. In the event of heavy infestation, the application may be repeated twice or thrice per week for an extended period as appropriate or as directed by a veterinarian.

  1. Wet the coat, apply shampoo, rub well to produce lather. Massage gently on the opposite direction of Hair coat which allows the shampoo to contact the dermal layers. Allow the shampoo to act for minimum 15-20 minutes for better results and rinse well with plain water.

Side effects:

Temporary clumping or spiking of the hair may be seen at the application site after treatment. Mild and transient skin reactions at the application site (itching, hair loss) may occur. If the cat licks the application site after treatment, temporary excessive salivation may be observed.
